It went right down to the wire, but a Coloradan will be going to the women’s NCAA Division I national golf championship.
Ashley Kozłowski of Littleton helped her Purdue team advance through a playoff at the NCAA Stanford Regional on Wednesday.
With the top four team finishers at each regional earning a berth to nationals (May 20-25 in Scottsdale, Ariz.), the Boilermakers moved on by defeating fellow Big 10 team Northwestern. Both finished 54 holes in 12 over par, but Purdue prevailed on the first extra hole.

Kozlowski, winner of the 2020 Colorado Junior PGA Championship, finished tied for 39th individually at regionals, going 74-76-73. The Coloradan, a sophomore at Purdue, graduated from Rock Canyon High School.
Meanwhile, at the Albuquerque Regional, Coloradan Lauren Lehigh placed 11th overall, falling two strokes shy of landing an individual spot at nationals after posting rounds of 74-71-73 for New Mexico.
Another highlight for a Coloradan on Wednesday was Boulder’s Kelsey Webster closing with a 69 at the Franklin, Tenn., Regional to move up to 36th place for Oregon State.
At the women’s NCAA Division II national championship n Gainesville, Ga., Colorado Christian senior Faith Kilgore finished Wednesday’s second round in a tie for third place individually.
The Texan, who shared the lead after round 1, closed her round with a triple bogey to post a 74. She’s at 1-under 143, five strokes behind leader Anahi Servin of Academy of Art going into Wednesday’s final round of stroke play.
As a team, Colorado Christian sits in eighth place. The top eight finishers after Wednesday’s round will advance to the match play portion of the event.
