Former CU golfer Sabrina Iqbal qualifies for final stage of LPGA Tour Q-Series

By Gary Baines – 10/18/2025

Former University of Colorado golfer Sabrina Iqbal has gotten a taste of the LPGA Tour by qualifying for — and competing in — two U.S. Women’s Opens.

But now she’d like to get the full meal.

Iqbal took a step toward that goal on Saturday by earning one of the 45 spots — and ties — into the final stage of LPGA Q-Series that were available through a 196-player qualifier in Venice, Fla.

Now if the former Buff can finish among the top 25 and ties at that final stage, set for Dec. 4-8 in Mobile, Ala., she’ll be the proud owner of a 2026 LPGA Tour card.

Iqbal tied for 26th place on Saturday in the qualifier in Florida. She posted rounds of 73-70-69-71 for a 5-under-par total, which left her nine strokes behind co-medalists Kokona Sakurai of Japan and Mirabel Ting of Malaysia.

Iqbal, who earned her Masters at CU in 2024,  played 13 events on Epson Tour in 2025, with a runner-up finish at the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic in mid-August.

Iqbal was one of seven players with strong Colorado connections who competed in the Q-Series qualifier in Florida, but the only one who advanced to the final stage of Q-school. Here are the scores for all those players:
