The Blue Championship, the Korn Ferry Tour event at TPC Colorado, names Children’s Hospital Colorado its primary charitable beneficiary

The PGA Tour takes great pride in how much money its tournaments raise for charity, reporting that they’ve generated more than $4 billion all time in that regard.
A good example locally was the 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, which netted $10.2 million for the tournament’s lone beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation, which funds more than 1,000 full tuition and housing college scholarships for caddies each year.
But the PGA Tour includes more than that circuit by itself. We make note of this up because the Korn Ferry Tour falls under the PGA Tour umbrella, and on Monday the KFT’s Blue Championship at TPC Colorado in Berthoud announced Children’s Hospital Colorado will be the primary charitable beneficiary of the tournament’s net proceeds.
The Blue Championship will be played for the eighth straight year, though the event now goes by a new name after Blue Federal Credit Union became the title sponsor in the fall of 2025. In 2026, the tournament is set for July 9-12. It has a $1 million purse, with $180,000 going to the winner.
Children’s Hospital Colorado is considered one the nation’s top 10 pediatric health care systems.
“We are honored to support Children’s Hospital Colorado,” Jon Turner, a longtime co-owner of TPC Colorado and now director of Colorado Golf Charities Inc., said in a press release. “Everyone has a story that connects them to the superb care provided by this organization. Through The Blue Championship, we have the opportunity to rally our community around a cause that touches so many families and helps ensure children across our area receive the top-level care they deserve.”
According to TPC.com, the Korn Ferry Tour event at TPC Colorado has generated more than $500,000 for local charities over the years.
Children’s Hospital Colorado, founded in 1908, is among the 10 children’s hospitals to receive “Honor Roll Rankings” status from U.S. News & World Report. The non-profit’s mission is to improve the health of children through patient care, education, research and advocacy.
“We are deeply grateful to the organizers and players of The Blue Championship for supporting Children’s Hospital Colorado as the 2026 tournament beneficiary,” said Jena Hausmann, Children’s Hospital Colorado president and CEO. “Your generosity reflects an extraordinary commitment to the families who rely on us during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. With your partnership, we can ensure the children we serve in northern Colorado and throughout our region have the best chance to heal and thrive.”
