Colorado Christian University is headed to the women’s NCAA Division II national championship as a team for the first time in program history. And it will do so with the NCAA West Regional individual champion on its roster.

CCU, the only Colorado-based women’s team competing in DII regionals, finished second on Wednesday in the 12-team West Regional in Stockton, Calif. That was easily good enough (top 5) to qualify for the 18-school DII national championships, set for May 10-14 in Gainesville, Ga.

Colorado Christian, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion and ranked 37th in the nation’s DII ranks by Golfstat, ended up at 9 over par for three days, nine strokes behind team winner Dallas Baptist, the 2021 national champs.

CCU senior Faith Kilgore from Wimberley, Texas, one of the top-10 ranked women’s DII golfers in the country, cruised to a three-stroke individual regional victory on Wednesday. It was her third individual win in the last month and a half for the RMAC individual champ.

In Stockton, Kilgore went 68-69-70 for a 9-under-par total. Also posting a top-5 finish for CCU on Wednesday was Emily Donaldson, who tied for fifth place (75-70-69).
