Former CU golfer Justin Biwer makes 2 eagles and 34 birdies en route to PGA Tour Americas win; Davis Bryant records his third top-10 of 2026 on DP World Tour; Wyndham Clark closes stellar FedExCup season with 21st-place finish at Tour Championship

It’s been quite a last five months for Justin Biwer — and a really stellar last eight days for the former University of Colorado golfer.

Five months ago, Biwer didn’t have any status on a major golf tour. But he earned a PGA Tour Americas card with a fifth-place finish in the circuit’s final Q-school tournament.

In both May (ninth place) and June (fifth place) he posted top-10 finishes in PGA Tour Americas events.

Last month, Biwer Monday qualified for the Blue Championship at TPC Colorado in Berthoud. In his Korn Ferry Tour debut that week, he not only made the cut but finished ninth, thus earning another start on the KFT.

Then a week ago, in his third KFT tournament, Biwer tied for ninth in the AdventHealth Championship. With that, he moved up enough on the season-long points list to earn a spot in at least the first event of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals (the Simmons Bank Open Sept. 10-13 in Franklin, Tenn.). That’s despite having played in just three KFT events to date.

And finally, on Sunday, Biwer really broke through — as in, with a victory. The 24-year-old, who wrapped up his CU career 15 months ago, won by two at the CRMC Championship, a PGA Tour Americas event in Brainerd, Minn.

The victory vaulted Biwer up to sixth in the season-long Americas points standings. After the final three tournaments of the Americas circuit, the top 10 on the points list earn Korn Ferry Tour cards for 2027.

In Minnesota, Biwer carded scores of 65-61-65-67 for a 22-under-par total. During the course of the week, he made one triple bogey and five doubles. But he also racked up two eagles and 34 birdies.He made eight consecutive birdies in round 1 and five in a row in round 2.

Bryan Lee caught Biwer late in Sunday’s round, but the former Buff responded by making birdie on his final two holes to win by two.

Another Top-10 for Davis Bryant: Davis Bryant of Aurora tied for ninth place on Sunday at the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, marking his third top-10 finish on the year on the DP World Tour — and the fifth of his career.

The 2024 Inspirato Colorado Open champion recorded rounds of 66-73-69-71 for a 9-under-par total at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, England, where he ended up five strokes behind winner Joe Dean of England.

It was the second straight strong showing for Bryant at the event as the former Colorado State University golfer placed 13th last year. Sunday’s performance was worth 54,800 euros (about $63,475). He moved up to 19th place in the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings. The top 10 on that list at season’s end earn PGA Tour cards for 2027.

Bryant’s previous top-10s this year on the DP World Tour were a pair of runner-up finishes — at the Magical Kenya Open and the Austrian Alpine Open.

That’s a Wrap for Wyndham Clark: Denver native Wyndham Clark didn’t add to his stellar PGA Tour Player of the Year candidate resumé on Sunday, but still chalked up another big payday in the FedExCup season-ending Tour Championship.

Clark — winner of three PGA Tour events in 2026, including the U.S. Open — struggled on Sunday in Atlanta, a week after winning the BMW Championship. He shot a 2-over-par 72 at East Lake Golf Club, leaving him at 5 under for the week and in a tie for 21st place.

That earned him $408,750 in prize money the week after he landed $11.6 million — $3.6 million for the BMW Championship victory and $8 million in FedExCup bonus money.

Clark’s three victories in 2026 ties for the most for any player, which should put him in consideration for PGA Tour Player of the Year, an honor voted on by the players.
